Janny Meijer was born on July 25, 1938 in Andijk, a small village in the Netherlands. She spent her childhood in the midst of nature, having grown up on her family’s farm. As a child, she preferred her colored pencils to dolls and other toys. This passion for the creative has been a mainstay of her life. Janny began as a self-taught painter; however, as an adult, she has studied under the tutelage of Jan Visser and H.F. Boot in Haarlem, the Netherlands. Today, her subject matter consists of still-lifes and landscapes. Janny is a well-known artist in the Netherlands and throughout Europe.
